Don't Drink the Water!

My manager, who is pregnant and due in September, left unexpectedly on Friday on emergency leave. Premature contractions caused the doctor to insist she go on bed rest. Another of the graphic designers in my department is also pregnant, and due in a week and a half. This means that two out of five members of our group will be on leave for the next three months...minimum.
As the most senior staff member in our group, I end up serving as substitute manager in my supervisor's absence - a fact I learned quite by surprise when she had her first child. I was never told I'd be expected to absorb such manager duties in advance. No...there is no additional pay involved.

I will have virtually NO time to blog surf during the day. If my presence seems spotty to nonexistent, you'll understand why. I'll check in on evenings and weekends, when not otherwise occupied.
