The Mythical "Nice Guy"

I'm not ready to dismiss by buddy Gene's lovely offer to meet in Akron [Thanks, Snake. I'm just crazy about you! And thanks for defending my honor on that bedroom thing. That will be our little secret.], however I am totally smitten with a new man in my life. I've not written about it sooner (except in emails to a few of you) because I didn't want to jinx things. Not that I'm superstitious or anything. Okay, maybe just a LITTLE superstitious!

I don't remember dating being this confusing or requiring this much effort when I was younger! Of course, that could explain all the lousy choices I made when I was younger. But I digress...

PW is one of those nice guys women assume are purely mythical. He treated me to dinner last week at a lovely restaurant on a lake where we had a table by the window. Very romantic. He brought me flowers this weekend with a note reading, "I'm glad we met". (Along with veggies from his garden!) He doesn't smoke, doesn't hunt, has a good job, likes parties and will even dance! (How about that, Paul?) He's easy to talk to, treats me like a lady and doesn't seem to have any unresolved issues. He has two college-aged kids, both attending school on academic scholarships. He beams with pride when he talks about them. It's absolutely charming. On top of all that, he's very good-looking with the most beautiful hazel/green eyes.

I'm hoping that the "men problems" Ol' Hoss referred to in his guest post yesterday may be a thing of the past.

If not, I'll be relocating to Akron, Ohio, without so much as a backward glance at those stinkin' Connecticut dinosaurs!

So you took the big step and went public. I'm wishing every time you two get together it's better than the time before.

Congratulations, he sounds wonderful! The nice guys do exist. Sounds like you found one of them! I'm mentally putting this picture with the one Hoss posted of you yesterday, and I think you make an adorable looking couple!

Min: YES!! My blog is still big. Certain other things are too. My Hotmail sign-in screen looks big, but once I log in, the mailbox screen looks fine. Did you install new MSN updates? I've tried everything and I can't seem to fix it! It's driving me crazy!!!

I don't know if our computers at work were installed with MSN updates. It could be this though. No problem at home, like I said, since I use Mac. Thank goodness I'm not the only one with this problem. It's driving me crazy too!

Looks like a nice guy to me. That's too cool what you wrote about him. And I was worried too after what Hoss wrote. I trust his word as Gospel.

Hea, my comment on "butt smooching" and "name dropper" was thought up before I even read Hoss's post that day. Never thought the comment could refer to you until you mentioned it and I thought about it. Dang, I'm always putting my foot in my mouth with my comments. My next blog is related to that.

Best wishes for your future.

Don't you love that fresh excitement that comes when you first meet someone? If he messes up, we'll all take care of him.

Big Dave: I was just kidding you...no offense taken. I'll go check out your post!

vbkim: Yeah...but I hate the uncertainty. I kind of prefer it when it gets more comfortable and secure. Know what I mean??

Mandy--my computer is DEAD and has been since very early Monday morning (I'm at the library right now!), and I can't check my charter email from here. You can BET that I'll be pestering you about this when I get my computer back, though! haha! (oh, and if you wrote to me the last couple of days...THAT is why I didn't respond...sigh...sorry!)
