Landscaping
Many people have an activity or a location where they like to just "putter around". For me, it's my yard. I've been spending nearly every spare moment outside, working on my front yard. I'm leaving my back and side yard as wide open as possible. I like to host cook-outs during the summer and I want space for outdoor activities. However, I'm trying to convert my front yard from a woodsy, patchy, brownish eye-sore into a breath-taking statement of artistic landscaping expression. Sadly, my ambitious landscaping plans so far surpass my artistic ability and horticultural skills as to be laughable. I'm hoping to make up for a lack of any real talent with an abundance of enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is the one thing I never seem to run short of.
My front yard features a huge pine tree. That means that I have mostly moss, dirt and pine needles. Any of you who are more knowledgeable than I am about shade-loving, acid-soil-tolerant plants that grow well in the northeast, feel free (encouraged even) to offer suggestions!
When I reach a point where I have something to photograph, I'll start sharing some pictures.

Thanks Sandra. Not sure what kind of winter you had in Missouri, but ours was L-O-N-G. I'm so enjoying this long-awaited spring!!
