ADD

There are a large percentage of children in our schools taking prescription drugs designed to treat the symptoms of ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). Physicians and drug companies have combined efforts to provide an orderly, disruption-free work environment in our classrooms by medicating far more children than can possibly be affected with neurological disabilities.



Why have these medical experts focused their efforts on treating elementary school and junior high kids, rather than focusing on the larger issue? There is a portion of population far more afflicted with ADD than children.



All men have ADD. I like to refer to it by the more descriptive title: "Oh look...there goes something shiny" syndrome. Most women, ALL of us over the age of 30, have witnessed the symptoms. A man, be it a date or just some guy hitting on you at the bar, engages you in conversation. He is charming, enraptured, hanging on your every word, admiring your every move. Just then, some 20-something blonde chick in a belly shirt ambles by. Suddenly that amiable, attentive man has completely forgotten what you just said. He has completely forgotten what HE just said. He has completely forgotten that you even exist! Whether or not he leaves physically, to follow like a stray puppy after the new shiny thing, he is essentially gone.
