My Soldier

My son's flight was delayed and he didn't arrive at the airport until about 11:00pm, which means we didn't get home until after midnight. I'm SO TIRED.

It's incredible how BIG he is. My son has alwasy been built a lot like his mom - more-or-less a string bean. Suddenly he's out-growing his clothes. The broadness of his shoulders never ceases to amaze me. And when did he get to be four inches taller than I am?

Inside, he's still my teenage son. He's still enamored with video games, movies and admiring teenage girls. But on the outside, he's every bit a soldier.

I passed along all your kind words.

Snake...I'm so touched!! You made my day!!! Really. You did!

"Whizzer"...I like that. It's like being given a "pet name" by a famous, celebrity blogger.

I'm so blessed!!!

McG: I did mention those sentiments. He said, and I quote, "Hey, anytime I can get paid to sit around and play video games and work on computers, I'm all over it."

I think he's getting a wee bit complacent there in Oklahoma. But that's okay. I don't care if he's complacent, so long as he's someplace safe!!

We always need good soldiers.
My step-brother is over seas where all the action is. It's frightening to think about it, but he keeps telling us that somebody has to keep people safe.

I admire everyone who can do just that.

God bless your son...and all of our troops.
