Another Fireman Post

The photograph below shows a red Doberman licking an exhausted fireman. The fireman had just rescued her from her burning home. He carried the pregnant dog to safety, while continuing to fight the blaze. He had been fearful of the dog when first coming upon her in the house. He had never been around a Doberman before.

With the fire finally out, the fire fighter sat down to catch his breath.

A photographer from the Charlotte, North Carolina newspaper, "The Observer," noticed the Doberman, looking at the fireman from a short distance away. He saw her begin to walk toward the fireman and he wondered what she was going to do.

As he raised his camera, she came up to the tired man who had saved her life and kissed him, just as the photographer snapped this photograph.

EDIT: I was told that this emailed story is one of many urban legends. I checked it out and found that the story has indeed been embellished, but it is not entirely false. The photo was shot by North Carolina Observer's Patrick Schneider, who was on the scene at a major house fire. The pregnant red doberman, named Cinnamon, was inside the burning home, but she escaped on her own when the fire fighters entered the building. She was not carried to safety by the fireman in the photograph. The photo was taken in July of 1999. Cinnamon later gave birth to 5 puppies. She passed away in January 0f 2005. The fireman in the photo, Jeff Clark, still works for the Charlotte fire department.
