Boobs!

Well...THAT got your attention. I thought it might. Don't get too excited. This is another frustrated parenthood post.

For years, my teenage daugher has been wanting to order these pills she sees advertised in the back of magazines which are supposed to increase bust size. Ahhh...things never change. I remember when I was 17 and bemoaning my lack of curves. (I'm 40-something and still doing it.) I told her that the only pill that would increase her bust would be some kind of hormone pill - like birth control pills. And hormone pills would not continue to work once a person stopped taking them (as the magazine pills claimed to do).

Fast forward.

We were eating dinner the other night and it hit me, her boobs are bigger. I'd found myself thinking that recently, but shrugging it off. She was wearing a tank top and clearly, she was bustier. So I asked, "Are you taking birth control pills?" She was sort of taken aback by the question, but she said yes. She'd gone with a friend to Planned Parenthood. Her friend had experienced a "false alarm" and decided birth control was in order. My daughter said she just wanted bigger boobs. Call me a sucker, but I believe her when she tells me she's not having sex. (at least not yet...) But my 17-year-old daughter is on the pill and that freaks me out.

Condom wrappers, birth control pills, murdered bunnies...crap this parenthood stuff is difficult!

Lejnd: No thanks - I'd rather not. My 20-year-old son is engaged - to his 18-year-old girlfriend. I'm having enough trouble dealing with that one!!

I was a very honest child on the whole, but...uhh...I told my parents I was on the birth control pill at 17 because I needed regular periods. Which wasn't a LIE exactly, but uhhh....

...yeah.

And for the record, my ex hubby that I rant about periodically? That's the man I lost said virginity to at 17 on the pill for "regulating my period."

Just warning ya! Don't shoot the messenger! haha!

Oh great, thanks Kira! That's EXACTLY what I wanted to hear! (to be read with copious amounts of sarcasm)

Will touch base tomorrow. Admittedly, I'm an idoit, but wish me luck anyway! :-)

Sorry! Eep! If she's given you no reason not to trust her, then you have to trust her. But keep all five senses open and on "receive" just in case. I mean...I was a "good kid," too.But sometimes good kids get a little lost on the way just like the ones you already know are lost!

I'll respond later on today, and then yeah, I need to hear tomorrow. You have all the luck I can give you just because you're such an adorable and wonderful "idiot"! haha!

My inbox is always filled with messages telling me that both my boobs and my penis need enlargement.

Oh, and I'm not hair enough, because there's treatments for that.

And to increase the volume of my sperm.

And help me keep it up all night.

I envision a hairy person with a huge penis that never goes flaccid, sporting enormous breasts, and spreading obscene amounts of seminal fluid wherever s/he goes.

Scary stuff.

These are tough times. Would it help any to think back to when YOU were a teenager?

When my kids were young, I told them how things work, but I never dreamed they'd actually do a test run to see if I was right....

This is why I'm afraid to have kids. I'm pretty sure I can't handle another version of me.

On the bright side, at least if she IS having sex, she's likely won't get pregnant... unless she forgets to take them.... then there's all the other scary stuff.

I have 2 girls under 10.
My time of worry is fast approaching.
